HDB BTO Application Process

A place that we call home ♥

Less than a month to our 4th Anniversary, I'm here to share more about our hdb bto application process that started last year!

We searched for more details from their website itself like sales launches and we applied for July 2013's Parc View. From there, you can find out where are the areas available. Sign up for the HDB eAlert Service so that you won't have to keep on checking their website. You'll be updated through email when there's any new launch.

After which, you can check for your eligibility to buy new flat here! Yes, you don't have to be married in order to apply. Just apply it under fiance/fiancee scheme, as long as either one of you are Singaporean Citizen and at least 21 years old. Then you can check if you're eligible for an HDB loan or bank loan for the flat.

Once you're eligible, you can start submitting application online for your ideal flat which require $10 for non-refundable administrative fee! HDB will then conducts a computer ballot to determine your queue number to book the flat. Felt happy because our first application was successful as our queue number falls within the number of units. There were like 3609 applicants fighting over 922 units!!!

Made our first trip down to HDB Hub to book our flat with all the documents required and paid an option fee of $2000 in cash or NETS which is refundable after signing agreement of lease. There'll be a price range for the flats depending on the unit/block that you pick. If your household income is not more than $5000, you'll be eligible for Additional Housing Grant which you can use to offset the purchase price.

We are invited to go down again to sign the agreement of lease and pay the 5% down payment of the purchase price either by CPF or cash. Depending on the purchase price of your flat and you'll also be required to pay lease stamp fee and conveyancing fee accordingly.

After this, it'll be 3 years wait to collect our keys! ٩(^ᴗ^)۶
